Sometimes, people just pull through for one another. Less than one month ago, I flashed the designers’ bat signal with a meager attempt to draw out some use cases for FrontlineSMS:Medic. A team of talented artists stepped up to the plate and hit a home run:

Design & Concept: Jennifer Noguchi & Momoko Okihara

Facilitated by Raina Kumra @ The Agency for Holistic Branding

    FrontlineSMS:Medic Graphic

They’re a wonderful team, and this is high-impact volunteering. As a nonprofit start-up, seemingly small tools/resources really matter. A nifty poster version of the graphic will be featured at the upcoming Global Health Information Forum in Bangkok and the art will immediately have a home in our team’s presentations.

I’m a really visual person and appreciate both the clarity and the detail of this graphic. Great work!

I am trying to understand the technology but want to help. I can collect cell phones, but right now I am involved in Haiti earthquake work. Today thousands were connected with lawyers who processed the 18 month extensions needed to remain in the U.S. and to work. I met grandparents who are now caring for a grandson of 3 years; the only survivor in the family of 5; all of whom died during the earthquake.

If I can be of any help, I don’t speak Creole but can do some legwork and I also write, please let me know. I can also connect people to others who do speak the language. I will immediately tell my doctor’s office (Dr. Jean-Claude Compas remains in Haiti with other Haitian-Americans from local hospitals, despite the fact that he lost his father, younger brother and two aunts) which serves the Haitian-American community that they might want to consider a cell phone collection. If this is of any help to you, please let me know. I can be reached at 718 638-7248 or by cell at 347 525-8793. And thank you.

May I use the graphic to promote the concept (with due recognition of source)?
